About Motorcycle Mary…
I would like to introduce myself and my business. My name is Mary McCune, but my stage name is “Motorcycle Mary.” I am a motivational financial humorist and the founder of “Motorcycle Mary’s School of Finance.” My seminars are designed to educate and motivate—I teach basic money -management skills and I encourage people to plan for their financial future.
What is a “Motorcycle Mary” seminar
Many people — regardless of income — find themselves constantly living paycheck to paycheck, short of cash, in debt, and overdrawn at the bank. They lament that “they don’t know where their money goes.” And they don’t have a financial plan for their lives. Using humor, hard facts, and real-life experiences, I show them the consequences of their day-to-day spending habits — how what they do today will affect their financial situation tomorrow. Then, I give them the financial tools that they need. I show them how to budget, how to manage major purchases, how to save for retirement, and how to develop a relationship with a bank. . I stress the importance of starting a savings account to develop good saving habits.
Who attends my seminars?
People from all walks of life, professions, and income levels. During the past eight years, I have conducted workshops for groups as varied as The Peoples Bank of Pratt, Kansas, the Community First National Bank of Manhattan, Ks, Johnson County Community College, the Kansas Healthcare Association, the Kansas Volunteer Commission, The Women’s Symposium, the National Monument Convention, the Barber Country Judicial System, Americorp, and the National Association of Geriatric Nurses. These are people who work hard and earn a good living. And they’re not “stupid about money.” They just never learned how to manage it. They don’t need a financial planner touting stocks, bonds, and investment strategies. They need practical, everyday advice.
